Yoseka and Fine Writing International have come together to celebrate the Lunar Year with the Year of the Dragon Fountain Pen. Yoseka first began carrying Fine Writing International back in 2019 with the Bronze Age Series. It only felt right to revive the first model that we fell in love with to create this limited edition fountain pen.
2024 is the Year of the Wood Dragon, and this pen's engravings, designed by Yoseka Team Member Ashley, includes many aspects of the dragon. The brass faceted cap features an engraving of a wood dragon with two dragon scale markers above it and four dragon scale markers below it to signify the year '24. In the Chinese Zodiac, the Dragon is considered both a strong and charitable animal because it gave up on winning the emperor's race in order to help others with its power over the wind. The finial has an engraving of two wood dragons breathing air to represent both this kindness and the collaboration between Yoseka and FWI. The brass end cap features an engraving of dragon scales, and can be twisted off to reveal the pump filling mechanism.
Originally released in April 2023, Fine Writing International's Scepter Fountain Pen featured a vacuum filling mechanism inspired by the classic 1930 Parker vacuum model fountain pen. By combining modern materials with the vintage filling mechanism of an iconic classical fountain pen, FWI's vacuum filler fountain pen can hold a large capacity of ink in its double-walled crack-proof barrel.
To fill, simply unscrew the back cap, submerge the nib in your ink bottle or inkwell, and push down the pump. The pen may need a few pumps to fill completely.
