The True Measure Ruler is an award-winning product released by Kokuyo. Every year Kokuyo hosts a product design competition and gathers innovative stationery design submissions from all over the world. This ruler is designed by Hiroaki Sakai in 2014, which improves the accuracy of scale marks on rulers.
Ordinary rulers use thick lines to showcase scale marks, in which the width of the line itself creates a 0.1 to 0.2 mm error. On the contrary, this redesigned ruler displays “faces” instead of “lines”. It uses the boundary of each black block to accurately indicate unit length, and even provides minimum measurements down to 0.5mm.
